What we do

A personalised gift only works if it is right for one specific person. Getting that right at scale is a production problem and a software problem at the same time, and most of our work goes into the second one.

We have been selling personalised gifts since 2016, first as a sole trader and, from 2019, as Suchmugs S.R.L. Today we sell through Amazon and a family of Etsy storefronts. Everything is made to order and produced by print partners in the United States, so orders ship domestically.

What we build

The production side runs on software we write ourselves. The pieces that matter:

• Design generation and reconstruction - turning a design idea into finished, production-ready artwork.
• Personalisation validation - checking automatically that a customer's name, date or message actually renders correctly on the physical product before anything is printed.
• Defect and return prediction - using our own order and review history to catch designs that will disappoint someone, ahead of production rather than after it.
• Order orchestration - routing every order from marketplace to the right print partner without a person in the middle.

This is built on large language models for reasoning and orchestration, and on open-weight image models for the generation and rendering pipeline.

Who runs it

Andrei Ghimus founded Suchmugs in 2016 and still runs it today - the commercial side and the engineering side both.

That combination is the unusual part. Most sellers at this volume buy their tooling; the software described above is written in-house, by the same person who negotiates with the print partners and answers the customer emails. A decade of shipping personalised product to American customers, and a decade of writing the systems that make it possible, sit in the same head - which is why decisions here move in days rather than quarters, and why the production pipeline is built around what actually goes wrong in production rather than around what a generic tool assumes.

He is based in Bucharest, works primarily in Python, and has been building automated systems for far longer than he has been selling mugs.
